All you need to do is purchase a Steel Valley Yarn Crawl passport from one of the participating shops.

Then, anytime between July 24th and August 9th visit each of the shops. Make sure to bring your passport with you so you can collect your passport stamp from each shop! We can’t give you a stamp if you don’t bring your passport.

At the last stop on your yarn crawl, you can turn in your completed passport to be entered into the grand prize basket drawing!

Anyone is welcome to participate! If you’re interested in learning more about the many wonderful local yarn shops and the fiber craft community in the Pittsburgh area, this is the event for you!

The SVYC passport is $5. The passport with the optional tote bag is $35. Either option can be purchased at your closest participating shop starting on April 25, 2026. Tote bags must be pre-ordered no later than July 1st.

Passports will be available leading up to the yarn crawl until all shops are sold out.

How much you spend at each yarn shop is up to you!

Some of the yarn crawl shops do offer online shopping. However, to receive your passport stamps for participating in the yarn crawl, you must visit each shop in person. Other than the passport, a purchase at each shop is not required to participate.

Each shop will have prize baskets to raffle. You will receive one ticket to enter a prize basket raffle just for showing up to each shop. You can earn more raffle tickets by making a purchase at each shop.

Raffle winners will be contacted by phone or email. A list of winners will also be shared on social media and the SVYC website. You do not have to be present at the shop at the time of raffle drawing. Winners must be able to visit the shop to pick up their prize.

All crawlers that complete and turn in their passport will be entered into the grand prize raffle for a prize basket of goodies from all participating yarn shops.
