The Steel Valley Yarn Crawl is hosted by local yarn shops in and around the Pittsburgh area. Join us for 17 days of community-filled fun as you visit 9 participating yarn shops! It’s the perfect chance to explore the many wonderful yarn stores scattered throughout Pittsburgh while discovering the unique neighborhoods that surround them. Each shop will feature exclusive items, special events, and extended hours to help you complete the crawl. It’s three weeks of yarn-filled fun you won’t want to miss!
How To Participate
To join the Steel Valley Yarn Crawl, purchase a passport or pre-order one of our new SVYC bags, which includes a passport. Both options will be available at any participating shop.
SVYC bag pre-orders and passport-only purchases will go on sale on April 26th in celebration of Local Yarn Store Day.
During the crawl, visit each participating shop to collect a stamp in your passport. At every stop, you’ll receive your stamp, a small gift, and a raffle ticket. Each shop offers its own raffle prizes, and you can earn additional raffle tickets for that shop by making a purchase.
Once you’ve visited all the shops and collected every stamp, turn in your completed passport at the final shop you visit to be entered for the grand prize. The grand prize winner will be contacted after the crawl!
Prize Baskets
Each shop will have three prize baskets that crawlers will have a chance to win. If you complete the crawl by filling your passport from all participating yarn shops, you will be entered into the grand prize! One lucky winner will receive the grand prize that has items from all the shops!
